What a week! We can’t say it enough! Get out there and enjoy the sunshine! Just this morning we went out to the beach with a cup of coffee and watched the dolphins! Yes, we work here and it is not always easy, but we LIVE here! There are people who have to save up all year to be able to enjoy this for a week or two.
Monday was the first of the monthly Simply Speaking events held at the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center hosted by the Amigos de Bucerias. Guest speakers were Juan Carlos Elias, the manager of the Bucerias Migration Office and Kelly Trainor, the US Consulate Representative. Both speakers were there to answer the questions about Immigration - Migration issues that many of us have. The next Simply Speaking seminar will be held on Friday, February 12th at the BBCC. Bob Price from the Vallarta Botanical Gardens will be back to let us know what is new and exciting at the gardens.
On Wednesday evening, Casa Hogar had their annual fundraising cocktail party at La Vida, here in Bucerias. Many people attended and all proceeds went to upgrading the orphanage and funding the children’s education. Congratulations go out to the organizers and we can’t wait until the next one!
Thursday evening had us all back at La Vida for their Inauguration. El Presidente Municipal de Bahia Banderas, Hector Paniagua performed a ribbon cutting ceremony as well as facilitating donations from La Vida to several local charities. What an honor to be able to meet El Presidente Paniagua! While the speeches were taking place, the dolphins were jumping and the sun was setting. Ahhh, Mexico!
Taste of Riviera Nayarit and the Bucerias Chalk Walk started today. There were quite a few restaurants taking part in the Taste of Riviera Nayarit and it was very well attended. Way to go Christy!
Please send your 1, 2, 5, or even 100 favorite things you have done...or want to do. Maybe it is enjoying a book with a cup of coffee at a special cafe, watching the sunset from your favorite oceanfront restaurant, taking a picture of a favorite statue, visiting a certain landmark, enjoying a concert at Los Arcos, or how about a special romantic spot...just for two! If you can, please include a street location as we are making a map also. We want to cover the whole area so anything from Cabo Corrientes to Chacala is great!
BuceriasNews.com is ready! You can now contribute and give your opinions on almost everything. This site is working on becoming your "Go-To Guide for Bucerias and Area".
Have a warm and sunny week!
